Community cafe Foodstory will be brewing up a storm at Solas Festival 2023

We are excited to share that Foodstory Cafe are coming to Solas Festival 2023!

Foodstory is an independent community cafe with four locations across Scotland. If you frequent Aberdeen beach, you may have seen their beach hut. This year, they will be celebrating their 10th anniversary. At Solas, they will be ready to meet all of your coffee and cake needs. Foodstory specialise in health conscious, yet guilt free treats. They strive to ensure that each bake is vegan, plant-based and gluten-free so everyone can try out some of their foodie creations!

Foodstory has a unique policy of BYOC (bring your own container) across all of their locations. This is part of their effort to encourage sustainable and eco-friendly actions and crack down on single-use takeaway cups and tubs. At the Festival, they will be holding a ‘Mug of the Festival’ competition where if someone brings along their best, most creative or unique mug, they will be treated to a free cake or refreshment.

Festival goers will be able to choose from coffee sourced from Obadiah Coffee Roasters based in Edinburgh, chai lattes both standard or dirty (which includes a delightful shot of espresso), turmeric chai or turmeric lattes, chocolate cake, lemon and blueberry almond cakes, brownies and peanut energy balls - all gluten free and vegan!

We spoke to one of the founders, Lara Bishop, about Foodstory’s involvement with Solas. “The happiest I am in my whole entire life is when I’m working, doing what I love at a festival, listening to music and making loads of coffee.” “It’s a feeling of contentment and knowing that I’m in the right place.” Foodstory is a cafe for everyone, and we are so excited to welcome them to Solas Festival.

We are still looking for stallholders at our upcoming Festival. If you or someone you know may be interested in getting involved, visit: https://www.solasfestival.co.uk/stallholders
