Me
Why I started dancing with indepen-dance? My mum read about indepen-dance online and asked if I wanted to join the dance group and I said yes. I started dancing with indepen-dance because I’ve always loved dancing since I was younger. It’s helped me to love myself and to show people my personality. I believe that anyone can dance and when I dance I believe I can show people that you can move anyway you want. Dancing is a great way to help wash negative feelings away and float above the sky.
What opportunities has indepen-dance given me? Indepen-dance has given me lots of opportunities to perform, meet new people and learn from other creative dancers. Also it’s improved my communication skills and helped me become more confident. A few years ago Indepen-dance had an opportunity to go to Valencia , Spain to take part in a rugby festival and also do a dance performance. This was like the first time I’d been far away from home without my parents. I knew it was going to be lots of fun and being able to meet new people.
Indepen-dance and Solas Festival Indepen-dance had the opportunity to perform a dance at the Solas Festival a few years ago. This opportunity was amazing for the dance group , to perform in front of a crowd and get people cheering and having fun. The Solas Festival is Scotland’s midsummer festival where lots is happening. Music , dancing , workshops and lots more.
Indepen-dance has been given the opportunity to perform again at this year’s festival and it’s going be amazing.
