Grayling

Recently deemed one of Vic Galloway’s (BBC Scotland) ‘Ones to Watch for 2023’ - Glasgow's Grayling has just recorded EP No.2 with Wild Cove Recordings; finding inspiration in nature, poetry and with an emphasis on self care - finding peace and clarity in the catharsis of writing, Grayling hopes her music will help others find the same solace.

Grayling has worked closely with producer Dan Gautreau on the EP recorded alongside her all star band - Joe Rattray on Bass (Admiral Fallow, Lizzie Reid), Conor Smith on Pedal Steel, Lauren Macdonald on Drums (Heisk) and Sam Vincent Kilbride on Guitar.

Speaking about the single Emma/Grayling said:

“I've been busy the last year writing and recording my second EP 'Cardinal Fire' which will be out in Summer 2024. I was overjoyed to receive a publishing deal with Wild Cove Recordings and to have the opportunity to bring my band out to Anstruther to record this new EP. We all have many sweet memories now of that sun-kissed week by the sea.

I wrote Half Price Fantasy when I was questioning my relationship with alcohol; realising that drinking maybe wasn't for me anymore. A lot of the time when we try to escape a feeling we're really just postponing it til the next day. This song is about exactly that!”

Grayling has recently shared the stage opening for The Heavy Heavy, Sarah Klang, Sylvie and Charlie Hickey. She performed at Country to Country in Glasgow’s OVO Hydro as well as headlining the famous King Tut’s stage in January 2024 as a part of their ‘New Years Revolution’ festival.
